Hall, 40th battalion headed “Written from a Dugout at the Scene of Action, France” with fantastic content “had my Rifle destroyed with a piece of shrapnel this morning but luckily I was not injured” “Written in great haste under shell fire” “Shell fire is a terrrible thing”.
