Australian 6 Division was raised 28 Sep 1939 & early in 1940 was sent to Palestine to complete training before joining B.E.F. in France, however France fell before they arrived & the Division was diverted to Egypt. Later in Dec 1940 the Division joined the allied thrust into Libya & capturing Bardia on 4 Jan 41 & later Tobruck on the 22nd…Railhead P.O. /R.M.1 commenced life on 22 Apr 1940 use prior to 17 Mar 41 is not recorded
