1943 (Dec 3) Stampless envelope to Aichi Pref. c/w long interesting letter written on 3 December 1943 & marked letter 39 by soldier, U68 U66 c/o Yokosuka Post Office with Censor hand stamp & self censored with orange circuular chop of Hashiba who states “There is no problem here as you can see in newspapers. As there is a despatch today I write you. I speak words for god. I’m going to return next spring. Please ask again to Colonel Makita, telling him that my life may end unless I return” ………………..Envelopes are rare from Japanese occupation forces & this Informative letter with clear suicidal intentions relates to the hardships these soldiers endured on Nauru and is historically important
1939 (May 19) [14.5.19] Plain envelope by airmail to Ms. Toshiko, Nakagyo-Ku, Kyoto Shi, Japan from Sonouchi Masami, Central China Dispatch, Nishiteru Uunit, Ogino Company bearing Japan 30 sen tied 40th Field Post Office (19 May) cds & with red framed Censored with circular chop of Japanese censor alongside & unframed Airmail hand stamps & with Japanese (20 May) arrival cds …………Although mail from Japanese forces in China is plentyful the use of airmail is not.

James HQ 80th Division A.E.F. who writes “I understand from Peace Commissioner statement that you are pining & langwishing at G.H.Q. The same applies to mme down here in Burgundy. Our G.2 took himself to the States about a month ago and your GHQ haven’t seen fit to send a new one, however the woork is not too arduous” cancelled U.S. Army Post Office /No cds (A 1009) & with violet Passed As Censored /2671 hand stamp ……….
1942 (Sep 24) GB Air Mail Letter Card to Miss I Jamison, VAD Mess, Cambridge Ho., Aldershot & forwarded to Reception Centre, Blackdown, Hants headed 82nd General Hospital MEF bearing GB 3d tied Indian FPO R-7 (29 Sep) cds located Limassol & with violet Crown over circle Passed By Censor /222 hand stamp with interesting content about travels but particularly “The village is exceedingly small & being up in the mountains” ……..Is refernce to mountains indicating Troodos, a five day lapse between date written & censored would suggest so….. Proud records FPO R-7 used at Limassol between 13 Jul 42-2 Dec 44 .
