(Name blacked out) & Co., Ltd. 2-Chome Minamikyutaro-Machi, Higashi-Ku, Osaka untidy & damaged envelope by Airmail via Hong Kong to Baghdad with manuscript 5 yen 30 sen bearing vertical strip x 4 Showa 50s & single 30s in combination with Tashio 1yen (2 others having fallen off) all tied by poor Osaka cds & with rare black on blue Arms / OPENED BY EXAMINER label (CCSG 8A3)applied in transit at Karachi with on reverse Baghdad (23 Dec) arrival datestamp…..This rare label 8A3 is recorded Jan 40 – Feb 41 was issued without gum & as such glue staining is inevitable. Not a good looker but unusual origin & destination with rare transit censorship & price reflecting condition..

In the Gilbert Islands & with framed violet US Racecourse censor 04241…..6c adhesive applied over edge envelope & subsequently folded & creased with the price reflecting this.

1945 (May 25) Herbert Sittner printed censored envelope by airmail endorsed Coast to Coast to Kew Gardens, New York bearing Duke & Duchess of Gloucester set making 11½d franking tied GPO Sydney cds….I believe that this is conveniently overfranked by 2½d probably to provide the recipient the complete set as the correct rate was 9d for Sea from Australia to US west coast & then U.S. or Canadian domestic airline to destination.

Km (101 sq Mile) yet with a small population of 1849 taken from 2011 census

Gaillard, Assistant Director International Red Cross, Geneva from Ministry of Health bearing Federation of South Arabia 75 fils overprinted Peoples Republic of Southern Yemen tied Sheik Othman cds & with bi-lingual PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF SOUTHERN YEMEN re-closing label ….After British forces left Aden in November 1967 a Peoples Rebublic was formed, with the area riddled with tribal wars and becoming one of the worlds most serious area’s of famine and decease with mail being very difficult to find.
